For Cimo, helping his clients achieve their ideal retirement ambitions is the ultimate goal as an advisor. He gauges his success as an advisor far beyond investment metrics, with a focus on long-term planning, tax planning, and estate considerations.
When Cimo left his former employer, a major bank, the droves of clients that joined him at Genesis gave him a sense of affirmation that indicated he was on the right track.
“I always knew I had great relationships with my clients, but seeing them move with me as quickly as they did reiterated that feeling and was by far my single biggest success.”
And Cimo’s client base has continued to grow organically through the trust he nurtures with clients.
“Most new clients come through referrals, which I believe is a result of clear communication, trust, and taking a long-term, client-first approach,” he says. “Retention comes from being proactive, accessible, and delivering value well beyond investment performance.”
Cimo’s dedication to his clients’ prosperity continues to drive him to continuously improve the services he provides.
“I view my career as a continual process of learning and improvement, with the goal of becoming a trusted partner in my clients’ financial lives.”
Weathering volatility has posed significant challenges to Cimo, who approaches this issue with calm and stable advice for his clients during market shifts.
“I believe people trust me because I’m consistent, transparent, and genuinely focused on their best interests. I take the time to understand their goals, explain decisions clearly, and follow through on what I say I’ll do – especially during challenging markets.”
He adds, “Managing client emotions during times of volatility can prove to be difficult. Helping clients stay disciplined when fear or greed pushes them to make short-term decisions can significantly hurt long-term outcomes.”
Looking ahead, sustainable AUM growth and long-term client satisfaction are the targets for Cimo’s ambitions as an advisor.
“I anticipate focusing on organic growth, enhancing the client experience, and continuing to develop professionally,” he explains.
