Prentice Wealth Management (PWM) was established in 2008 during one of the most turbulent financial periods in modern history. From its beginnings as a small firm with two professionals and $25 million in assets under management, PWM has grown into a thriving hybrid registered investment advisor with 12 associates managing and supporting over $627 million in client assets.
Over the past three years, PWM has grown its footprint by acquiring and renovating a larger headquarters in Rochester, NY while supporting regional offices near Boston, MA and suburban Charlotte, NC. With a client retention rate of over 99 percent, the firm proudly serves clients across 36 states.
The culture at PWM is grounded in the fiduciary standard, emphasizing client-first values, continuous improvement, and collaboration since its inception. In 2014, the firm expanded its reach by launching an affiliate model to support like-minded financial professionals with portfolio management solutions, financial planning support, and practice management resources. In 2017, it introduced tax preparation services to offer clients a more convenient and cost-effective solution.
Beyond serving its clients, PWM encourages continuous professional development among its team and strives to be a positive force in the community. Together, these commitments define the firm’s unique culture.
Water safety for every child
For some families, where cost or access is a barrier, a school program may be the only structured swimming and water safety education their child receives, which is why Aquastar’s School Swimming and Water Safety Program goes beyond swimming lessons. Each swimmer is assessed against age- and ability-appropriate skills and receives
certificates and water safety education resources, giving schools measurable evidence of progress alongside the harder-to-measure gains in confidence and independence.
Aquastar’s commitment to children extends past the lessons themselves, with scholarships, fundraising, Giving Days and employment opportunities for young people carrying Aquastar's community focus beyond the pool.
The company's read on the future stays close to that purpose: expanding practical learn to swim and water safety, reaching more children through school partnerships, and continuing to invest in the next generation of teachers and supervisors.
Recognition in The Educator’s Service Provider Awards for 2026 reflects a business that has grown quickly while keeping its founding priorities intact – helping more children become confident, capable and safe in the water.
