“Being true to who we are is key; we are purely a referral-based business. There is zero marketing or advertising”
Adam Rakowski,
Ortus Financial
Throughout her more than 18 years of financial services experience, Amanda Arcilesi Simmons’ innate dedication to her craft has reaped rewards.
“I have always had an interest and passion for the industry, which motivated me to always go above and beyond in every role I was in. As opportunities arose, I jumped at the chance to go further,” says Arcilesi Simmons.
Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, she successfully led the transition of ARC Wealth Management’s entire book of business from Wells Fargo Advisors to Stifel Independent Advisors in June 2023. This transition was executed smoothly, ensuring clients experienced minimal disruption during the change, with nearly all existing clients staying.
In June 2024, Arcilesi Simmons acquired a book of business representing $44 million in client assets from a retiring advisor, with the transition set to complete on December 31 of this year.
“This was my first experience with such a transaction, and it involved transitioning all of the retiring FA’s clients into our practice, ensuring they received the same high level of service they were accustomed to,” she reveals.
Her practice has also seen significant growth in assets under management, which increased from $400 million to $550 million over the past year.
Arcilesi Simmons joined the team in 2007 as a sales associate and now serves as a partner and financial advisor, building holistic strategies and risk-appropriate investment plans.
She enjoys helping her clients stay educated through each phase of their financial journey, including:
• accumulation
• risk mitigation
• transfer of wealth
She values the relationships that she creates with her clients and cares deeply about them and their families. Service is key to her business – listening to each client helping them pursue their goals, rather than implementing a one-size-fits-all strategy.
“My strongest professional quality is my strong memory and organizational skills, which are always valuable in servicing my clients.”
Arcilesi Simmons meets obstacles head-on with a refreshing attitude.
“The biggest challenge in my current role is resoundingly a lack of time – what I consider to be my most valuable resource. I try to always be available for my clients whenever they need me, and I utilize my team as a complement to my skillset,” she says.
“Being a woman in a male-dominated industry is an intimidating but highly rewarding role. I strive to be a part of changing cultural stereotypes in this industry, which especially derives from my experience coming from a large wire-house. I strongly believe in actively listening to my clients and their personal lives and financial goals, and then moving forward with empathy when making financial decisions with them.”
She was appointed to Stifel Independent Advisors' Advisory Council, which serves as a platform to influence internal processes and advocate for improvements to enhance client experiences.
Arcilesi Simmons joined the board of the Girls Scouts of Utah in April 2024, serving a two-year term, where she also holds a position on the financial and investment committee.
“My involvement is driven by a commitment to visibility and empowerment for young girls, particularly in the field of finance. I recognize the importance of role models in shaping the aspirations of the next generation and am dedicated to helping girls build confidence and courage, whether they pursue careers in finance, science, or the arts.”
Her unwavering desire for growth and an insatiable appetite to never stop pushing herself contributed to her inclusion in the IN Hot List of 2024.
