Cheyne Pace founded Yale Capital Corporation in 2004 after managing portfolios for five years with the Equities Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co., from 1994 to 1999, and five years with Merrill Lynch’s Private Advisory Group, from 1999 to 2004. He received his master’s degree in business administration from Yale University. Pace has focused on managing domestic and international exchange-traded investments with attention to tax efficiency for 25 years. His primary academic influence, David Swensen, manager of one of the most renowned institutional portfolios – the Yale University Endowment Fund – inspired Pace’s approach to endowment-style investing. He serves as Yale Capital’s chairman and chief investment officer, leading the firm’s investment committee.

Stan Black has been with Yale Capital for over a decade and currently serves as chief operating officer. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he accumulated over a decade of experience in the investment advisory and brokerage industry. Black’s previous roles have included portfolio management, analysis, derivative trading, performance reporting, and client relationship management. At Yale Capital, he provides extensive analytical support and assists Cheyne Pace with portfolio management duties as an active member of the investment committee. He graduated from Honors College at the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration and obtained his master’s degree from the University of Alabama, where he also taught the junior level finance course as part of his fellowship duties.

Andrew Hollister joined Yale Capital in 2007 and, for almost two decades, has served as a prime relationship point for clients and prospective clients. He is a principal of the firm and an active member of the investment committee. Hollister joined Yale Capital after graduating magna cum laude in mathematics and economics from the University of Texas. He helps lead portfolio management duties and provides analytical support across the firm.

Weston Newman joined Yale Capital in 2020 with over six years of experience in the financial services industry. He serves as a key relationship point for clients and prospective clients and provides analytical support to Cheyne Pace in portfolio management duties. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst with HSBC Securities and an equity research associate with SunTrust, Robinson, and Humphrey in the oil and gas industry, based in Houston, TX. Newman earned his BS from Millsaps College, with a double major in economics and business administration with a concentration in finance. He is a CFA charterholder and an active member of the investment committee.

M. Steve Rastin 

Senior Counsel 

Steve Rastin is a senior counsel who represents seriously injured and wronged people with a focus on motor vehicle litigation, disability law, medical negligence and birth trauma cases, and class action/mass tort proceedings. He has close to 30 years of experience and has argued cases for clients in the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. In 2021, he joined Gluckstein Lawyers to lead the Rastin Gluckstein offices in central Ontario and to assist with complex litigation, serious medical negligence, and class action/mass tort litigation. Rastin also acts as trial counsel for Gluckstein in cases across Ontario. He has acted as lead counsel in hundreds of serious injury cases and has obtained multimillion-dollar recoveries. Rastin is dedicated to helping injured victims recover after suffering an injury and is an advocate for his clients, and takes the time to listen to their concerns.

David Lackman graduated with honours from Montreal’s McGill University in 1978. Thereafter, he received his Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. In 1982, he was admitted by the Supreme Court of California to practice as an attorney and counsellor-at-law in the state’s courts. He was admitted by the Law Society of Ontario as a barrister, solicitor and notary public in 1985.  Lackman’s litigation practice now extends over 35 years, encompassing serious and complex personal injury and disability claims, and wrongful death claims. He has achieved outstanding results against some of the country’s largest corporations, including railway operators.

Jonathan Burton is a senior associate at Gluckstein Lawyers, a prominent personal injury law firm based in Toronto. Erin Ellis has over a decade of experience and a proven track record of success advocating for survivors of both recent and historical sexual and physical abuse.
