Profile
Fresh out of college, Lauree Harrison, CFP® responded to a listing for a financial advisory firm but had no grand career plan. What she found on the other side led her to where she is now.
“I was fortunate to land among great advisors who really cared about their clients and put relationships over sales targets,” she says. It was a lesson she has never forgotten and one that now defines every interaction with clients of her own.
Harrison’s measure of a job well done is telling. “Success in this business isn’t measured by numbers,” she says. “It’s measured by trust. If I am the first call someone makes at a pivotal moment – death in the family, marriage, job change, or retirement decision – that’s when I feel successful.”
At the heart of her approach is making the overwhelming feel manageable. In a world saturated with financial noise, competing forecasts, and anxiety-inducing headlines, she sees her role as cutting through complexity – creating clarity, building confidence, and helping people feel genuinely organized about their futures.
The quality Harrison identifies as her professional cornerstone is flexibility as every client brings a different relationship with money. “Effective financial planning requires the ability to meet people where they are and adapt both the conversation and the strategy accordingly,” she explains. “Financial decisions are almost always trade-offs, and you have to be able to reframe a problem again and again to be sure we are making the right decisions in the right moments.” It is a philosophy built for uncertainty – which, she notes candidly, is the defining challenge of her role.
That comfort with uncertainty extends to how Harrison thinks about her own decision-making. “We often won’t know whether a decision was the ‘right’ one until years later,” she says. Her aim, therefore, is not perfection – it is rigor. “My goal is to ensure that when we look back 10 years from now, we can confidently say we carefully considered the available options, weighed the trade-offs, and made the best decision possible with the information we had at the time.”
Harrison has navigated the industry’s gender dynamics with the same composure. Early in her career, her husband was mistaken for the advisor at industry events. Ideas she raised gained traction only after male colleagues repeated them. She worked through bouts of imposter syndrome. Her conclusion, looking back, is characteristically forward-looking. “At this phase of my career, I think being a woman in this industry is a superpower,” she says. “The natural empathy and communication style we develop have become a key asset in our business.” As an extension of this, Harrison hopes to see far more women enter the field in the years ahead.
As a lifelong learner – holding the CFP designation and continuously attending webinars on macroeconomics, tax policy, and estate planning – Harrison brings both technical depth and genuine curiosity to her work.
“The financial landscape is constantly changing, and staying current is critical to giving clients thoughtful, relevant advice,” she says.

“At this stage in my career, I’m not trying to impress clients with technical language. I’m focused on helping them make better decisions”

“A message is only as strong as the receiver’s ability to understand it. Good intent isn’t enough if the client can’t clearly see the benefits and trade-offs”
