The firm’s $1-billion foundational upgrade has centered advisor voices throughout the process, from strategic direction to execution. “We’ve completely modernized and revamped our tech stack,” says Sol Gindi, head of WFA. “We view everything we do with advisors as a partnership – development and technology are no different.” That partnership culminated in the June 2026 launch of Advisor Gateway, a new advisor desktop that’s already

“When using the platform, the impact should be immediate and tangible. What used to take 15 minutes now happens in seconds, and what once took three days, advisors can now complete in real time”

accomplishing its purpose: streamlining workflows so advisors can spend less time navigating outdated systems and more time with clients.
Built not just for advisors, but with them Long before Advisor Gateway was deployed, volunteer task forces of financial advisors and client associates reviewed early iterations of the platform and offered feedback based on their experiences. The firm implemented a two-tier feedback loop: a design and strategy group that shaped the platform’s vision, and a separate group of first adopters who pressure-tested the new tools in their day-to-day work.
Advisors Will Locke and Jeremy Vance, from the Legacy Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, regularly provided strategic technology feedback through these task forces to help create a more holistic technology experience. Locke says, “It all boils down to client delivery and enhancing our practice. There’s a seamlessness of advisory management behind everything, and the tools being developed are focused on providing well-rounded planning and successful practice management.” Vance notes that with Advisor Gateway, “The platform now feels so much more cohesive. A lot of that comes down to the psychological impact of having one hub that you’re operating from, compared to legacy systems that felt more bolted on.”
Now that Advisor Gateway has rolled out across the firm’s national footprint, peer influence has been essential for creating awareness and buy-in among advisors. “We value advisor input because advisors trust each other’s opinions,” Gindi says, highlighting how champions in each market can speak first-hand to Advisor Gateway’s capabilities and how it can help accelerate daily operational tasks.
AI that works for advisors Inside Advisor Gateway lives the AI Teammate tool – an assistant window built into the broader desktop.
In its initial phase, the tool searches WFA’s core resource center to get answers quicker with plain-language search, summarizes product, process and workflow information, moves work forward with guided workflows and clear next steps, and brings relevant information together in one place. And advisors are using it – since launch, advisors and their teams have entered close to 250,000 prompts.
Over time, capabilities will expand to help advisors uncover new opportunities, prepare for client conversations with personalized insights, and focus on the actions that can strengthen client relationships and support practice growth.
But technology alone isn’t the end goal. What matters is helping advisors spend more time with clients and less time on routine work. “We’re using AI to help our advisors be more effective in providing meaningful advice and enhancing their client relationships,” explains Gindi. AI only becomes useful once it’s translated into something an advisor can feel in their daily workload. “When using the platform, the impact should be immediate and tangible,” he says. “What used to take 15 minutes now happens in seconds, and what once took three days, advisors can now complete in real time.” That’s the pitch: tools that let advisors do their existing work faster, freeing them up to deepen relationships and grow their book of business.
Driving success through adoption As new capabilities are added, advisor feedback will continue to guide the platform’s evolution. For Gindi, that’s been the differentiator from the start. “The best technology isn’t built in isolation,” he says. “When advisors help shape the tools they use every day, the result is technology that works the way they work, helps them serve clients more effectively, and positions them for future growth.”
